Gift of Hope, Inc., a charity started by the owners and employees of National Enzyme Company, has named Meghan Connell their new Director. Connell has been involved in the Taney County community for over 14 years, during which time she has gained considerable charity fundraising and event coordinating experience.
Connell, a graduate of Saint Louis University, with her BA in Communication Studies, will plan, organize, direct and coordinate all Gift of Hope programs. This includes all charitable functions and fundraisers as well as service throughout the community. In addition, her work will include enlistment of program volunteers. “I am thrilled to be a part of Gift of Hope! The many programs that Gift of Hope manages help so many children and families in need in Taney County,” Connell said.
Gift of Hope has been active in the community for many years, since its conception one eventful holiday season. The employees of National Enzyme Company decided to assist a family in need over the holidays in place of a company gift exchange.
“The charity has grown as the needs in the community have grown,” Connell continued, “including the management of My Neighbor’s Pantry. The Pantry feeds about 1800 people per month.”
Connell understands the challenges facing Gift of Hope during the upcoming holiday season. However, she is confident that area businesses and residents will reach out to those less fortunate. This past weekend alone, Gift of Hope hosted their 16th annual Bowl-a-Thon to raise money for their “Christmas Share” program, they were able to raise $4,000 total for the cause.
Backed by the employees of National Enzyme Company, Gift of Hope, Inc. has been serving the needs of children and families in Taney County for over 20 years. Currently Gift of Hope, Inc. sponsors programs to provide children with school supplies, food and clothing. In addition, Gift of Hope, Inc. provides assistance to qualified families in need with rent, utilities, food and Christmas gifts, particularly during the winter months when the need can be the greatest in Taney County.
