Code Blue Recovery Drink Features Sustamine™ from Kyowa Hakko
2009-10-20 - Kyowa Hakko USA, Inc.

Code Blue, billed as the world’s first complete recovery drink designed to help the body combat dehydration, replenish vital nutrients, remove harmful toxins and reduce inflammation, has been introduced using Sustamine™, L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine from Kyowa Hakko USA in the formulation.

Designed by beverage scientists to revive the body, the all natural powerful ingredients in Code Blue allow you to feel better faster by helping the body combat dehydration, replenish vital nutrients, remove harmful toxins and reduce inflammation. Code Blue can be consumed before, during and after stressful activities to speed the recovery process and bring the body back into balance. Code Blue has also been designed to help the body feel better and enhance its state of alertness quicker, by including hydrating elements, nutrients and electrolytes that are needed after long periods of being on the go.

In addition to Sustamine™, the Code Blue beverage contains agave nectar, prickly pear juice, N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) and “high levels” of vitamins B12, B6 and C, as well as vitamin A, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Code Blue contains no caffeine. Code Blue is available in a 6- or 12-pack, each containing 12 ounce bottles.

Sustamine™ L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine, which is classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe), is considered a “high-tech” amino acid dipeptide that promotes muscle rehydration, recovery and can be used as a source for energy refueling. Produced by a novel and cost effective patented fermentation technology, Sustamine™ L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine is available in powder form and is water-soluble into a clear solution. It is also odorless and tasteless. The stability of Sustamine™ L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine enables it to be formulated into a variety of food and beverage and healthcare applications.
