Kaneka Nutrients L.P. (KNL) today announced that its parent company, Kaneka Corporation (Kaneka), has filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Los Angeles on October 6, 2009, accusing Sinochem Jiangsu Co. LTD. and Sinochem American Holdings Inc. of infringing Kaneka’s U.S. patent relating to reduced coenzyme Q10.
Reduced coenzyme Q10 (a.k.a. Ubiquinol), also known by its trade name KanekaQH™, is the active antioxidant form of the nutrient coenzyme Q10.
Kaneka has been the recognized industry leader in coenzyme Q10 for the past 30 years, and is the largest manufacturer of coenzyme Q10 in the world. KNL is the first and only manufacturer of coenzyme Q10 and reduced coenzyme Q10 in the United States.
