Despite the challenges of a tightening economy, the seventh annual Natural Products Expo Asia, produced by New Hope Natural Media, had both exhibitors and attendees praising the event, citing it as an essential and high quality show for the natural, healthy, and organic industry in the region.
This year’s tradeshow featured 327 exhibiting companies showcasing thousands of latest natural, organic, and healthy products, plus ingredients. Nearly 70% of exhibitors came from overseas representing Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, France, Germany, and China. The 3-day exhibition attracted 9,080 industry delegates from over 37 countries/ regions, and provided a comprehensive platform for new business opportunities. Excluding Hong Kong, the top ten attending countries/regions were Mainland China, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, the U.S., Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Korea, and Canada.
The inaugural, Nutracon Asia conference, as part of Natural Products Expo Asia 2009, was attended by over 300 delegates from 115 companies. The two-day conference included workshops and guest speakers who educated attendees about business and market strategies for the industry in Asia. The program focused on four main topics: Dietary Supplement – Trends & Regulations, Natural Beauty Workshops, Healthy Food and Beverage Innovations, and Sourcing and Marketing Health Products in Asia. Featured speakers came from renowned agencies including Guangdong Food and Drug Administration, Japan Supplement Association, Organic Monitor, Mintel International, Organic Food Development Centre, Ministry of Environment Protection, The People’s Republic of China.
