Lactium®, an all-natural ingredient made from cow’s milk proteins, has been shown to significantly improve various aspects of sleep disorders in a recent clinical study published in The Open Sleep Journal (Volume 2, 2009). The double-blind, placebo controlled study was conducted in Tokyo, Japan on 32 subjects with insomnia. The five-week study used the Japanese version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI-J) to evaluate the following sleep parameters: sleep quality, sleep latency (the length of time it takes a person to fall asleep), sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances, use of sleeping medication, and daytime dysfunction.
Subjects receiving Lactium® experienced significant improvement in the areas of sleep quality, sleep latency and daytime dysfunction. Researchers attributed these improvements to the anti-stress properties of Lactium®.
