Everest Water Introduces New Bottled Water Drink Containing Aloe To US Hispanic Market
2007-08-05 - Aloecorp

Product Launched at Hispanic Marketing Meeting for Retailers

Lyford, TEXAS – Initially targeting the giant Hispanic consumer market, Oneta Company of Corpus Christi, Texas, producers of Everest Premium Bottled Waters, launched a new bottled water containing Aloe called Everest Extra With Aloe™ at the 2007 Hispanic Retail 360 Summit in Dallas this week.

Nutritionally enhanced food, beverages and juices are becoming a booming industry for small and large companies.  The market for these products is predicted to grow to $6.4 billion in 2008.  Mega and specialty beverage brands are getting on the health bandwagon and developing drinks containing various health-oriented ingredients.

Aloe has long been a valuable health aid, particularly in the Hispanic culture.  Its many healthful properties have been used topically and internally since ancient times to support the body’s immune system, promote healthy blood sugar and treat burns, wounds, inflammations and other health conditions.  Modern scientific and clinical research supports ancient Aloe uses, including the most recent human study at the University of California, Davis, showing one ounce of pure Aloe vera juice, the amount delivered in Everest Extra, enhances the bioavailability of vitamins B12 and C, and ORAC capacity of the plasma.

Oneta CEO, Karl W. Koch, discovered the beneficial properties of Aloe vera himself several years ago when it was introduced to him as a calmative and relief for gastrointestinal issues he was having.  Since Everest Water’s beginning the company had touted the fact that there were no additives of any kind, organic or otherwise, in their premium bottled water.  However, after learning more about Aloe’s efficacy, Koch began to consider it as an ingredient that could enhance Everest’s water and be a health boon to consumers.  This interest led him to Aloecorp, the leading grower and producer of research proven Aloe vera ingredients.  Koch was impressed with Aloecorp’s state-of-the art research and development and processing facilities based in Lyford, Texas, home of the historical Hilltop Gardens, the first commercial Aloe vera farm in the United States.

“Many times I have been tempted to add vitamins or other enhancements to Everest, but always believed it was best to leave a good product alone.  The possibilities inherent in Aloe vera juice changed my mind.”

Koch’s company began developing their new product, Everest Extra with Aloe.  The drink includes Certified Plus®, an Aloecorp bioactive Aloe ingredient made from organic whole leaf Aloe vera juice that contains the highest standard of quality available, and guarantees 5% polysaccharides by dry weight.

Koch points out, “Our formula retains the familiar Everest taste, with perhaps a bit of extra crispness.”

The production of this new healthy drink conveniently coincided with the major marketing conference, Hispanic 360, which brings together major retailers and marketers from industries around the country that are interested in promoting their products and services to the large Hispanic market in the United States.  Recognizing the long history of importance of Aloe to Hispanics, Oneta used this opportunity to launch its breakthrough drink at the meeting this week in Dallas, Texas.

Aloecorp’s corporate headquarters are in Washington State; their growing, processing and R&D centers are located in Texas, Mexico and China.  With a solid foundation in scientific methodology, Aloecorp’s products are supported by published, peer-reviewed studies.  All the company’s products are subject to superior quality standards to guarantee purity, potency and biological activity.  Aloecorp is part of the ECONET global family of health and natural product companies.  For more information about Aloecorp and its products visit the company online at: www.aloecorp.com.  Contact Aloecorp at info@aloecorp.com or call (800) 458-2363, ext. 1135.
