The Organic Trade Association appoints Nature’s Path organic program manager to Canada VP
2007-06-27 - Organic Trade Association

Richmond, BC – The Organic Trade Association (OTA) named Nature’s Path Foods Organic Program Manager Dag Falck to the Vice President seat representing Canada, during its annual meeting held at the All Things Organic™ Conference and Trade Show held at McCormick Place in Chicago on May 5.

In addition to Falck, the other 2007-2008 OTA officers are: Jesse Singerman of Prairie Ventures, President; Julia Sabin of Smucker Quality Beverages, Vice President representing the U.S.; Luis Acuña of CF Fresh, Secretary; and Chuck Marcy of Healthy Food Holdings, LLC, Treasurer.

Dag Falck, who was elected as a member to the OTA Board of Directors last year, says it is an honor to be a part of this group of professionals within the organic community.

“Moving organic into the mainstream is a coming of age with its challenges,” Falck said.  “Organic grew up different and unique, providing an alternative.  Now organic is embraced by the mainstream and sitting at the tables with agriculture policy developers is a privilege.”

“The Vice President-Canada seat on the OTA Board of Directors reflects that OTA is a North American trade association, representing organic interests in Canada as well as the United States,” said Caren Wilcox, OTA’s Executive Director.  “OTA was founded by organic interests from both Canada and the United States, and since its formation, OTA has had members from Canada on its Board.  We are very pleased that Dag Falck will fill this role on OTA’s Board.”

The mission of the OTA is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy.  OTA envisions organic products becoming a significant part of everyday life, enhancing people’s lives and the environment.  As a membership-based business association, the OTA focuses on the organic business community in North America.  OTA’s 1,600 members include farmers, processors, importers, exporters, distributors, retailers, certifiers, and more.  For more information, visit the OTA’s web site at www.ota.com.

Founded in 1985, Nature’s Path Foods operates its headquarters in Richmond, B.C., Canada and employs more than 300 people at its four facilities throughout Canada and the U.S.  The privately held, family owned company produces breakfast foods, snacks and pasta that are sold in specialty foods stores and national retailers in 46 countries around the world.  The company’s brands include: Nature’s Path, EnviroKidz™, LifeStream® and Optimum™.  For more information, visit www.naturespath.com.
