September 6, 2005 - San Francisco, CA - 2005's Socially Responsible Business Award Recipients will be announced Friday, September 16th at a breakfast ceremony in Washington DC's Renaissance Hotel during Natural Products Expo East.

The 11th Annual Socially Responsible Business Awards honors excellence in individuals and businesses who meet criteria developed by the Social Ventures Network (www.svn.org). Companies are rated on nine standards: ethics, governance, business relationships, employment practices, products and services, financial return, accountability, community involvement and environmental stewardship.

This year's independent panel of industry judges have selected four winners. All nominees must be present at the ceremony to receive their award. The 2005 nominees are:
NOW Foods
Dr. Bronner's
OM Organics
Pangea Soapworks
Ethos Water
Dagoba Chocolate
Level Ground Coffee
Sambazon

Started by Golden Temple, makers of Peace Cereal, Yogi Tea and Sunshine Spa products, the Socially Responsible Business Awards have become a favorite industry event for companies and individuals seeking inspiration. Socially Responsible Business Breakfast Coordinator, Jill Ettinger looks forward to this year's event, "Each year, this celebration gains more momentum and retains its impact longer. Our industry continues to grow rapidly in every direction, and for those of us centered around enhancing our community, this gathering is the foundation."

This year's event will feature a presentation by Celebrate Peace coordinator, Jeff Klein of Cause Alliance Marketing and Keynote Address from Seth Goldman, Co-founder, President and TeaEO of Honest Tea. Also included in the agenda will be a special dedication to the victims of hurricane Katrina, which has devastated the lives of millions since hitting the United States late August 2005.

The Socially Responsible Business Breakfast, held from 8:30 – 10:00 AM,  is free to industry members.
