LOS ANGELES, CA, January 4, 2005–Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® (SGTI®) introduces CoQsol-CF™, a crystal-free, patent pending soft gel formulation of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQsol-CF™ is a completely solubilized form of coenzyme Q10 in a proprietary matrix. This unique formula dissolves the crystals that are formed when CoQ10 is produced commercially, and prevents the solution from recrystallizing. A pilot clinical trial demonstrated that this particular delivery system enhanced the bioavailability of CoQ10, and further studies are in progress. SGTI® developed this product in an effort to improve the nutrient yield of CoQ10, and build upon the existing reputation of its original CoQ10 formula, CoQsol®, that was introduced to the nutrition industry eight years ago.
This patent pending technology was also created in response to an increased demand of CoQ10. “It is apparent that if supply is diminished and demand is increased, the solution lies in improving the performance of the material we have available,” remarked Kenn Israel. CoQ10 prices have risen to record levels, fueled by scientific evidence that supports higher doses as well as regulatory changes in Japan that increased consumption. Japan is the primary producer of CoQ10, and Japanese producers augmented production capacity last year and additional improvements are planned for the future.
SGTI® President, Ron Udell, also commented, “CoQsol-CF™ is a valuable addition to the portfolio of dietary supplements available exclusively from SGTI®. We know that the market is demanding both cost-effective and research-backed solutions. This new product strengthens our position as the leading supplier of enhanced-performance CoQ10 soft gels, while upholding our commitment to using only safe and natural ingredients.” SGTI® is dedicated to providing the natural products industry with unique and effective delivery systems, and will continue to innovate and create intellectual property to achieve these goals.
About Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® is a leading contract manufacturer providing specialty soft gelatin encapsulation to the nutrition industry. SGTI®’s leading product is a patented, highly-bioavailable CoQ10 soft gel marketed as CoQsol®. Other key products include GlucoTrim®, a Banaba leaf extract for blood glucose management, and Injuv®, a low molecular weight hyaluronic acid for cosmeceutical and joint health applications. Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® is a privately-held company based in Los Angeles, CA.
