WASHINGTON, D.C., September 24, 2004 --The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), one of the dietary supplement industry's leading trade associations, is holding a one-day science seminar on Thursday, Oct. 28 at the classic Lansdowne Resort in Virginia, less than an hour from the nation's capital and just minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport. The Workshop--A Day of Science will immediately follow the trade association's three-day annual conference on dietary supplements.

The full day seminar will provide attendees with an update on the current state of science--including strengths, weaknesses, and areas where more research is needed--for a variety of supplement ingredients. An expert line-up of highly respected scientists will examine an array of topics including vitamin E effects on respiratory infections and heart disease, green tea extracts' clinical prospects, calcium and phosphorus effects on bones, and omega-3 fatty acids and brain function.

According to John Hathcock, Ph.D., vice president, scientific and international affairs, CRN, "This is an excellent opportunity for researchers, academics, scientists and others with an interest in the science-based evidence for dietary supplements to interact with leading researchers in these supplement areas.
