BOTHELL, Wash., Feb 16, 2006 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- There is now a new standard for energy/sports drinks. Zipfizz(TM), the hottest trend for sports enthusiasts, office workers and students looking to get an energy boost, has created a healthy alternative to popular energy and sports drinks.
"Zipfizz is the healthy alternative to energy and sports drinks in a tube," said Riley Livingston, president and CEO of Enfission Inc., the maker of Zipfizz. "Other popular energy drinks, such as Red Bull, may contain high levels of sugar, caffeine and other ingredients that your body does not need. Zipfizz is an all-natural alternative for people looking to get a quick energy boost."
Zipfizz, which is packaged in an eye-grabbing test tube-like, single- serving container, comes in a powder form; it contains only 10 calories, no sugar, and just 2 net carbs. Livingston and the scientists/doctors at Enfission worked for more than a year to come up with the right formula of ingredients that would work together to provide a person with a natural energy boost and replenish the body with electrolytes.
The effervescent formula, when mixed with 16 to 20 ounces of water, offers 25 nutritional ingredients including nine vitamins, eight minerals, electrolytes and antioxidants.
Livingston said the product name came from the added "zip" that drinking Zipfizz gives an individual. He said within 15 minutes of drinking Zipfizz, people feel "alert, energized and refreshed." Livingston said the effect can last for up to four hours, depending on the individual's metabolism. An added benefit is that people will not feel the "crash" period they get from other energy and sports drinks that contain high levels of sugar, ephedra or caffeine. Those drinks can cause "jitters" and raise heart rates in some individuals whereas Zipfizz contains 100 mg of caffeine extracted from green tea and guarana, which is about one-fourth the caffeine in a tall Starbucks coffee (375 mg) and less than two Excedrin tablets (130 mg).
"A lot of people drink Zipfizz instead of coffee," Livingston said. "It's great in the morning and as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Athletes like it before a workout because it helps them train harder and hydrates the body with essential electrolytes for post workouts, without adding the calories and sugars that other sports drinks contain. We're also hearing from college students who drink Zipfizz during study hours because it keeps them alert and awake with a blast of B-12."
Zipfizz is available in single tubes, 3 packs, and 20-packs at participating 7-11's, convenience stores, Costco Wholesales stores and other retailers, in two flavors: Berry and Citrus. For more information, please visit http://www.zipfizz.com . |
