International Nonprofit Distributes Wild Oats Brand Nutrients to Liberia and Zambia BOULDER, Colo., June 20, 2006 - Wild Oats Markets, Inc. (Nasdaq: OATS), a leading national natural and organic foods retailer, today announced it has donated $250,000 worth of Wild Oats brand vitamins and supplements to Vitamin Angel Alliance, a nonprofit organization that provides health education and nutritional supplements to medically underserved communities around the world.
Through Vitamin Angel Alliance, the Wild Oats donation will aid and support people who rely on various charitable health care facilities and programs throughout the countries of Liberia and Zambia. Vitamin Angels selects and identifies countries based on community need, and distributes to people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or political belief.
"Thousands of villagers and children in Liberia and Zambia will benefit from Wild Oats' significant donation," said Howard B. Schiffer, founder and president of Vitamin Angels.
