LOS ANGELES, CA, October 9, 2006 – Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® (SGTI®) and OptiPure Brand Chemco Industries Inc.® (OptiPure®) are pleased to announce five educational opportunities they are co-sponsoring at the upcoming SupplySide West trade show to be held at the Sand Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 18th–20th. Attendees interested in learning about market-relevant science and compelling data on new branded supplements should not miss these five VendorWorks Presentations being promoted by SGTI® and OptiPure®.  These programs are part of both companies’ efforts to foster education within the Natural Products Industry.

Prior to the International Reception on Wednesday, October 18th at 4:00 p.m., participants can hear Dr. John Rumberger, a noted cardiologist, and Kristen Reynolds, Marketing and Sales Manager at KGK Synergize Inc., speak about Sytrinol® and the research supporting its benefits for cholesterol health.  This talk will be held in San Polo rooms 3501-3502 in the Venetian.

On Thursday, October 19th, show attendees will have two opportunities to learn about Lyc-O-Mato® brand lycopene tomato complex from LycoRed.  Beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Toscana rooms 3605-3609, medical journalist and author, Robert E. Kowalski, will be educating his audience how lycopene, specifically Lyc-O-Mato®, can assist in lowering blood pressure.  SGTI is publicizing this presentation because of their partnership with LycoRed; those in attendance will receive literature and free samples of LyCoQ™—their exclusive new heart health complex in soft gels, containing Lyc-O-Mato® and CoQsol®.  The second presentation will be held in the exhibit hall, booth number 7083 at 12:30 p.m.  Dr. Rumberger will discuss how natural supplements, such as LyCoQ™, complement the health benefits gained by following the Mediterranean diet in optimizing cardiovascular health.  Free literature and samples will also be available at this VendorWorks talk.

Also being held in the exhibit hall, booth number 7083 at 12:30 p.m., on Friday, October 20th, SGTI® and Verdure Sciences (who recently acquired Geni Herbs) have joined forces to market PomElla® brand natural-spectrum pomegranate extract in soft gel form.  In a talk called, “New Research on PomElla®:  Absorption, Metabolism, and Antioxidant Effects,” Dr. Susanne Mertens-Talcott from Texas A&M University will discuss new findings on PomElla® and its role in heart health.  Again, participants attending this lecture will be offered product literature and samples of this new product from SGTI®.

Finally, show attendees are encouraged to hear Dr. Andrew Myers, a charismatic naturopathic physician, speak about the benefits of Posinol™—a natural herbal alternative for mild depression.  His 2:00 p.m. presentation on Friday will be held in Toscana rooms 3605-3609.  This talk is a great way to end your SupplySide experience on a positive note.
