- New Clinical Trial on Saw Palmetto Inconsistent with Positive Results in Previous Studies
The results of a new clinical trial on the popular herb saw palmetto may confuse the public, especially men with prostate problems, according to the American Botanical Council (ABC). In examining serious adverse events, ABC notes that there were twice as many serious adverse events in the placebo group as in the saw palmeto group, suggesting other serious health issues might have been present in the population.
