Saskatoon, SK – Sangster’s Health Centres, (a division of Planet Organic Health Corp. POH-TSX Venture Exchange), Canada’s longest running health and nutrition franchise, announced today that it has opened its first international franchise in Africa.
Sangster’s first international franchise opened today in Uganda’s Capital City - Kampala, a bustling city located on the Eastern edge of Africa bordering Kenya. This landmark expansion places Sangster’s Health Centres in the heart of Uganda, which has a population base of 25 million people.
Sangster’s move into the international marketplace is part of their strategic expansion plan, which includes strengthening its Canadian market penetration, and introducing itself into Africa’s emerging global market.
Sangster’s Master Franchisee, Dr. George Ayee will be overseeing operations of the Kampala franchise along with expanding the Sangster’s Franchise System throughout Eastern Africa. Dr. Ayee states, “I was born and raised in Uganda. Success in my previous career has allowed my family and I the ability to give back to the country who gave us our start, and I know of no better way than to educate people about natural alternatives for a better life.”
“We are thrilled to provide a natural alternative to pharmaceutical remedies for customers in Kampala and this introduction into Africa marks the beginning of a strategic plan to expand our franchise”, Sangster’s VP Business Development, Darryl Sangster said. “A year has passed since we first began building our partnership with Dr. Ayee. In that time we have received Government approval of our exclusive Sangster’s Brand of products in Uganda, Dr. Ayee completed our extensive onsite training at our Head Office in Saskatoon and has been licensed as our Master Franchisee for Eastern Africa. I am extremely confident that we have wisely invested both time and capital into getting this venture to the stage we’re at, and I couldn’t have more confidence in Dr. Ayee’s professionalism and ability to grow this market for Sangster's.”
“Expanding into foreign markets was a goal of Sangster’s and we look forward to further expansion of our Sangster’s brand throughout Eastern Africa, states Roy Sangster, President of Sangster’s Health Centres. “We strongly believe that we have found the right partner to fulfill our expansion plans in Africa.”
