PISCATAWAY, N.J., June 12, 2006 - Sabinsa Corporation will continue its "Sabinsa on Wheels" tour on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, and on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel near Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, Calif. These informative one-day seminars provide nutraceutical and cosmeceutical industry members with the latest information on the company’s ingredient research and development and will cover topics including healthy weight management approaches, the importance of selenium and natural approaches to diabetes support.
"Sabinsa has spent significant time and resources to ensure that our ingredients meet stringent quality standards and that product claims have been substantiated by scientific research," stated Todd Norton, president, Sabinsa Corporation. "Sabinsa on Wheels provides busy product development decision makers with comprehensive information on ingredients that address a variety of preventive health maintenance needs in a convenient format."
Presentations will be made by Sabinsa's scientific team including Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Dr. Vladimir Badmaev, Dr. Lakshmi Prakash and Dr. Kalyanam Nagabhushanam, as well as select guest speakers. In Utah, Madan Mohan Chaturvedi, Ph.D., visiting professor at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas, will present research surrounding curcuminoids and boswellic acids, which have been shown to inhibit the actions of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB), a protein that regulates inflammation at the molecular level. NF-kB is involved in the expression of more than 300 genes that trigger abnormal inflammatory responses, which can ultimately lead to a variety of chronic disorders including arthritis and cancer. In Los Angeles, Michael Godard, Ph.D., will highlight findings from a clinical trial he spearheaded surrounding Sabinsa's ForsLean(R) ingredient, the results of which were published in a recent edition of the Journal of Obesity Research. Milan Fiala, M.D., researcher at the UCLA School of Medicine will also be speaking in Los Angeles on the molecular mechanisms of curcuminoids in enhancing innate immunity.
Sabinsa Corporation, founded in 1988, is a manufacturer and supplier of herbal extracts, cosmeceuticals, minerals and specialty fine chemicals. Sabinsa's mission is to provide alternative and complementary natural products for human nutrition and well-being.
