(ANN ARBOR, MI USA) - With the release of the dietary supplements Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) forthcoming, manufacturers need to make sure they understand what the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires. To help manufacturers interpret the new guidelines, NSF International will be hosting a GMP seminar on October 14, 2005 at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.
This one-day course will focus on the key differences between U.S. FDA Food GMPs, drug GMPs, current NSF GMPs and the proposed Dietary Supplement GMPs. GMPs are regulatory requirements that provide guidelines for necessary processes, procedures and documentation to produce products that have the identity, strength, composition, quality and purity they are represented to possess. The seminar will provide an opportunity for professionals in the dietary supplement industry to receive training from industry experts.
Who Should Attend? This seminar is designed for industry personnel, contract manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and quality assurance personnel responsible for cGMP compliance. Trade associations, consultants, retailers and attorneys may also find this seminar helpful.
Instructor The class will be taught by Ofelia Barretto, a quality assurance professional with more than 40 years experience in the management of quality assurance/control of drugs, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foods and nutritional supplements. As an international authority, she has authored and presented papers on quality systems, supplier quality management, GMPs, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), FDA inspection preparation, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9000 and GMP concepts.
