Ann Arbor, MI – NSF International today announced that Blue California’s manufacturing facility in the People's Republic of China has been awarded Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Registration.
An ingredient manufacturer that also offers contract-manufacturing services such as blending, granulation and chilsonation, Blue California is among the first manufacturing facilities in the People's Republic of China to successfully meet all requirements of NSF’s GMP Registration Program, which include:
personnel issues, plant and grounds maintenance/sanitation, equipment design and maintenance, quality assurance issues, health claims, and production/process controls. NSF conducted a plant audit to verify compliance with these GMPs requirements and will conduct periodic audits at Blue California’s manufacturing facility to ensure continued conformance.
“Blue California’s NSF GMP Registration comes at a critical time as it confirms they are well prepared for the release of FDA's upcoming GMPs," said Kathleen Jordan, general manager, NSF Dietary Supplements and Functional Foods Certification Programs.
GMP registration reflects Blue California’s commitment to ensuring quality and satisfaction and gives regulatory officials’ confidence that Blue California operates in conformance to established GMPs as specified in NSF/ANSI Standard 173 for Dietary Supplements. For meeting GMP requirements, Blue California receives a NSF GMP registration certificate and is listed on the NSF Web site: http://www.nsf.org/Certified/GMP.
Cecilia McCollum, Blue California’s Executive Vice President says, “Being awarded GMP certification by NSF is a great achievement for Blue California; it confirms once more our continued commitment to quality. Our manufacturing facility has been ISO-9000 certified since 2002, however, receiving GMP registration by NSF confirms our unwavering commitment to support our customers in their effort to meet the industry’s demand for stricter control and regulations.”
