Bloomingdale, IL –(June 21, 2005) - NOW Foods, Inc. of Bloomingdale, IL has a new company slogan for the acronym that became the company name: Nutrition for Optimal Wellness. Additionally, the company has changed its corporate name to NOW Health Group.
The acronym NOW was first used in 1968 after company founder Elwood Richard named the company after industry standards - Natural, Organic and Wholesome.
“The new slogan more fully identifies to consumers and the trade what NOW's focus and mission really are,” said company president AL Powers. “NOW's mission is "to empower people to live healthier lives" and nutrition is key in working toward that goal.”
The new slogan will appear on all company literature and advertising and a new campaign will alert consumers to the new message.
Additionally, NOW Foods recently changed corporate names to be "NOW Health Group". Though still under the same family ownership, the company's retail stores - Fruitful Yield - have split off to become a separate corporation. This was a natural progression as NOW became the dominant part of the company and some separation from the retail stores was strategic to help NOW management focus entirely on NOW business and acquisitions.
The Richard family owns both corporations, continuing the same-family ownership and management that began in 1948 when Paul Richard first purchased Fearn Soya Foods.
