NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 1, 2005—Nominations are now being accepted for the National Nutritional Foods Association’s 2006 awards program. Each year at NNFA’s annual trade show and convention, members and supporters gather to salute those dedicated individuals who have contributed so much to the association and the natural products industry. Both individuals and companies are honored in various fields of achievement including science, the environment, the legislative arena, and more. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, April 15, 2005.

Nominees are considered for the following categories:

Burton Kallman Scientific Award – presented to an individual for outstanding achievement in science with relevance to the natural products industry.

President’s Award – presented to an individual or company that has made long-time contributions to industry.
Rachel Carson Environmental Award – presented to an individual or company that has made significant contributions to the environmental community.

Statesman/Stateswoman Award – formerly the Lifetime Achievement Award, this award is presented to individuals outside industry who have been an ally to the natural products industry in the political and legislative arenas.

NNFA Crusader Award – recognizes individuals who have made notable contributions to industry above and beyond commercial success.
 
NNFA Clinician Award – recognizes a licensed healthcare practitioner whose work exemplifies the best standards and dedication to responsible holistic, non-invasive and integrative/complementary/alternative-medicine modalities.

Socially Responsible Retailer Award – presented to a retail store(s) within the industry demonstrating key aspects of social responsibility.
