Grace’s Kitchen Take-Home Gourmet™ Line Bolsters its Frozen Foods Presence with New Packaging and Fall Menu Items
Seattle—October 20, 2005—Grace’s Kitchen, a thriving line of frozen take-home gourmet meals, today announced that its new boxes and menu items arrived in grocery stores this week. Already distributed nationwide to stores such as Whole Foods, Wild Oats, and Giant Eagle, Grace’s Kitchen continues to gain prominence for its unique, gourmet frozen meals.
Development of the new, smaller box stemmed from grocery buyer feedback. Although Grace’s Kitchen meals have garnered enormous praise from consumers and frozen food industry insiders, grocery buyers often relegated the meals to the “freezer well” because of their large box size. Grace’s responded by redesigning and slimming the box to improve its visual appeal and maximize the chances of prime, eye-level placement on freezer shelves. The box redesign also reduced packaging costs by nearly 70 percent.
Grace’s Kitchen President and Chief Operating Officer Jaap Langenberg spearheaded the packaging change for a smaller, more visually compelling box.
“With the old boxes, shoppers weren’t able to look into the freezer and quickly understand what it was they were getting,” said Langenberg. “The new boxes feature beautiful high-resolution photography of each meal’s ingredients in a scrapbook style layout; consumers will now be able to instantly realize the high quality of what’s inside.”
In addition to new packaging, Grace’s Kitchen has added new fall meals to its line that include: Spinach Herb Polenta Lasagna, Spiced-Rubbed Pork Loin, Chipotle Bean Cakes with Corn Chowder, and Wild Mahi Mahi Tacos. Vegetarian meals will sell for $12.99 and non-vegetarian meals will sell for $15.99. Each meal feeds two.
“With more and more people trying Grace’s Kitchen’s and loving it, it’s become very apparent there’s a void in the frozen food world when it comes to quality meals made from natural ingredients,” said Langenberg. “Right now, Grace’s makes the only meal that fills that void.”
Grace’s Kitchen offers busy consumers mealtime solutions with its diverse selection of chef-prepared, fresh-frozen, take-home gourmet meals. These delicious, complete meals packaged for two are ready to enjoy in less than 30 minutes and include cooking instructions, serving recommendations and wine and beverage pairings. The meals contain no additives, preservatives or artificial flavors and use fresh, all-natural ingredients for superior taste and quality. For more information, visit www.graceskitchen.com.
