The second annual “Naturally Boulder Day” event, attracting 300 participants from the region and the nation, will be held at Hotel Boulderado on Friday, October 20, 2006.
Boulder, Colo.— (July 11, 2006) – The Boulder region has the largest concentration of natural and organic products companies in the country. The industry is so important, the city of Boulder formed a task force to encourage the next generation of natural and organic entrepreneurs.
Part of that mission is “Naturally Boulder Day,” held next on October 20, at the Hotel Boulderado. The event serves to enhance the performance of natural or organic product entrepreneurs and mid-sized businesses. After an exceptional response to last year’s first Naturally Boulder Day, the demand for the event is expected to reach beyond the region, say event planners.
“Based on the sold-out success of the first Naturally Boulder Day conference, we’re anticipating a strong reception to this year’s event, as Boulder is known around the country as the ‘Silicon Valley of the Natural Products Industry,’” says Linnea Simons, Chair of the Naturally Boulder Task Force, the group organizing the event.
With Boulder serving as a hub for the $51.4 billion natural food industry, the conference has an impressive supply of speakers to inspire. Keynote speakers will include Mo Siegel, founder of Celestial Seasonings, and Steve Demos, founder of White Wave Foods. Seminars will offer cutting-edge advice to start-up and established entrepreneurs from industry experts. Topics such as Navigating the Trade - Sales and Distribution Strategies, Inventing and Reinventing Your Natural Brand, Off-the-Grid Marketing & PR, Consumer Trends and Market Research, Authentic Leadership and Sustainability, and the Entrepreneur’s One-minute Pitch Slam will be offered by industry veterans and experts including Mark Retzloff, CEO of Aurora Organic Dairy, Laura Coblentz, Marketing Director of Wild Oats Markets, Byron Freney, Research Director of the Hartman Group, Joan Boykin, President of InnoVision Health Media, and Jeffrey Nibler, President of SPINS, to name a few.
There are more than 100 companies involved in natural and organic products active in the region, contributing $3.5 to $4 billion in annual revenues to the Colorado economy, according to Compass Natural Marketing, an industry marketing firm. Conference participants will have an opportunity to get a peek into some of these companies through select tours of area businesses, held on Oct. 19, the day before the conference. Networking receptions and a trade fair displaying products add to the stimulating environment of the conference for those interested in the industry.
The costs for attending the conference are: Full Day pass $195; Half Day $100; Starving Entrepreneur $125 (100-word essay required); Student $100; Tours (additional fee) $15; and Reception Only $35. To register visit www.naturallyboulderproducts.com.
Sponsors for Naturally Boulder Day
Naturally Boulder Day is presented by this year’s Premier-level Sponsors including Boulder-based Wild Oats Markets, the City of Boulder and New Hope Natural Media. Patron Sponsors are White Wave Foods / Horizon Organic and Aurora Organic Dairy. Corporate Sponsors include Caplan and Earnest, and InnoVision Health Media. Entrepreneur Sponsors include the Boulder Economic Council.

Naturally Boulder Task Force
The Naturally Boulder Task force was established in 2005 by the city of Boulder and the Boulder Economic Council to provide support to help grow area natural and organic products businesses, help retain existing natural products businesses, attract natural products companies to the region, mentor new business leaders, and promote Boulder as a center for the natural and organic products industry. Visit www.naturallyboulderproducts.com for more information. Also, Naturally Boulder publishes a quarterly newsletter on-line focusing on natural product news from the local region. The newsletter is distributed via email free to interested individuals; sign up at www.naturallyboulderproducts.com.
