Los Angeles, CA, March 3, 2005 — Los Angeles-based Jarrow Formulas’ and New York-City based Sigma Tau HealthScience will co-sponsor an Expo West Seminar entitled, “Carnitine Renaissance: Propionyl-Carnitine and AminoCarnitines for Health and Athletic Performance.” The seminar will highlight the latest information on exclusive patented forms of Sigma-tau L-Carnitine molecules called AminoCarnitines™.

Richard Bloomer, Ph.D will be the featured speaker. He will focus on how propionyl-L-carnitine, one of the two most thoroughly researched forms of L-carnitine, may influence oxygen utilization, enhance athletic performance and improve health, as well as how these factors relate to the retail sports and fitness market.
Bloomer holds a Ph.D in exercise physiology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is currently an assistant professor within the Department of Health and Sport Sciences at The University of Memphis. He held prior positions at Duke University Medical Center and Wake Forest University as a research physiologist and visiting assistant professor, respectively. His research work has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as Hypertension, International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, Canadian Journal of Applied Physiology, and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.

The seminar will be held Saturday, March 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center in room 201D.
