Mircheff to Lead Expanded International Sales Efforts
BENICIA, Calif., April 27, 2006 – InterHealth Nutraceuticals Inc. today announced the promotion of Darryl Mircheff to Vice President, International Sales. Mr. Mircheff, who has nearly 20 years of global sales and marketing experience including more than a half dozen in the nutraceutical industry, will lead the company’s expanded efforts in the international arena. He has managed sales for InterHealth in California, Latin America and the Pacific Rim, but now will be responsible for all business development and sales initiatives outside of the U.S. and Canada.
“We have seen a growing interest in our proprietary ingredients overseas, and have launched an initiative to expand our sales in specific markets, especially in Asia, the Pacific Rim, Europe and Mexico,” said InterHealth Executive Vice President Paul Dijkstra. “With Darryl’s extensive understanding of our products and his experience working with many of our international customers, we are in an excellent position to increase our presence on a global level.”
Dijkstra pointed out that InterHealth’s expanded international efforts fit well with the company’s recent move to further develop its functional food and beverage division. “Much of the new interest in our products overseas is for ingredients that work well in foods and beverages,” said Dijkstra. He pointed out that InterHealth’s Super CitriMax®, a proprietary weight-management ingredient, has flexible applications for food and beverages and has been affirmed as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe).
“With the obesity epidemic on the rise in many parts of the world, and the increasing popularity of weight-loss beverages in countries such as Japan, Korea and Taiwan, we’re seeing a growing market for products such as Super CitriMax® overseas,” noted Dijkstra.
Several of InterHealth’s other products also have significant global sales and potential for stronger growth internationally. They include ChromeMate®, a proprietary niacin-bound chromium compound that plays an important role in insulin function, has food and beverage applications and is GRAS-affirmed; UC-II®, a proprietary undenatured or intact form of type II collagen used to promote bone and joint health; and OptiBerry®, a proprietary multi-berry extract that provides whole-body anti-oxidant protection.
About InterHealth Nutraceuticals Inc. InterHealth Nutraceuticals researches, develops, markets and distributes specialty nutritional ingredients, which are sold worldwide to manufacturers of dietary supplements and nutraceutical food and beverage products. The company’s products include Super CitriMax®, ChromeMate®, Aller-7®, OptiBerry ®, UC-II®, L-OptiZinc®, Protykin® and ZMA®.
