The 5th annual Healthy Foods European Summit will be held in central London at the Royal Horseguards Hotel on the 6 -7 October, 2008.
This year, Health Focus International will use the conference as a platform to launch their 2008 Global consumer trends report. The first official public presentation of the results from this major international 19-country survey will take place at the conference on the morning of the second day.
The report will give fascinating new insights into consumer behavioural patterns and trends in relation to health, nutrition and food and beverage purchases. It also addresses the key issues surrounding brand choice and communicating messages.
Peter Wennstrom, President of Health Focus Europe said: “ We are finding that consumers are increasingly unforgiving – they are now looking for values beyond, taste, convenience and health. Environmental and sustainability issues are increasingly impacting choice in a dramatic way, and this is for both food and medicines. Fair trade and eco friendly choices make consumers feel good about themselves and the products they choose. They are also increasingly aware of where their food is coming from. All this however, needs to be balanced against issues like rising costs and food shortages. “
With ever increasing awareness and concerns about food consumption and health-related issues, the Healthy Foods European Summit has created a leading platform for debate and networking and encourages a united approach to tackling major nutritional and food industry issues.
The 2008 programme will embrace trends, regulation, government policies, scientific development, hot new innovations, management, marketing and a look into the future. This years' Summit will also feature two Davos-style debates addressing issues in the areas of the future of food production and how industrial food processes can create unhealthy foods.
Conference Highlights • THE BIG DEBATE: Healthy Foods - Healthy Planet - The future of food production • Sustainability, biotechnology, organic, fair trade, food miles, affordability & the effects on multinational food production • Food waste, packaging & recycling • The influence of retailers • Sustainable supply chain management. Claims, regulation, marketing & science EU Food Law Association advice and a special focus on Russia • Geographic markets and growth potential • Business trends, industry shake-ups M&A's • The BIG DEBATE: Dramatic new findings about the connection between food processes and chronic diseases. How can the industry adapt to arising concerns ? • Consumer Health Marketing - meeting consumers needs now and in the future • Marketing and branding - successful strategies - New ways to find consumers • The effects of diet on health and wellbeing • Beauty foods & new innovations - Inside out and outside in • Innovation challenges and trends - Some new approaches to innovation.
