GOLDEN, Colorado, Monday, January 31, 2004 – GTC Nutrition, a business unit of Corn Products International, Inc. (NYSE: CPO), today announced that Ken Bender has been named national account manager - dietary supplements. Bender was promoted to this newly created position after serving as a technical sales agent for the Company in the western United States.
“The dietary supplement market is experiencing tremendous growth in North America and, as such, this segment is a key focus of our product line,” said Patrick Smith, president of GTC Nutrition. “By naming a manager to focus on this specialized market segment, we expect to introduce an even higher level of innovation through our science-based ingredients to this industry. I am confident that Ken’s expertise and years of experience in this market will raise the level of service and value that we bring to our customers.”
Bender brings more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the food and dietary supplement industry to his new position, which will now include responsibilities throughout the US and Canada. Prior to joining GTC Nutrition in 2004, he was the western regional sales manager at Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., a leading nutritional and supplement ingredient manufacturer. Bender obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
