Name Change & New General Manager Reflect Changing Business Needs

Ann Arbor, MI - Reflecting on its recent expansion of scientific services, The Toxicology Group, LLC, announced today that it has changed its name to Global Lifescience Solutions,™ LLC. The change to Global Lifescience Solutions, an NSF International Company, coincides with a range of new laboratory and technical services available in the areas of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, dietary supplements and nanotechnology.

Global Lifescience Solutions now combines its unique toxicology and pharmaceutical expertise to deliver an innovative package of solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, dietary supplement manufacturers, universities, hospitals and other contract laboratories.  Global Lifescience Solutions offers pre-lead screening of drug candidates, preclinical toxicology, clinical support and testing, as well as good laboratory practices (GLP) and good manufacturing practices (GMP). Global Lifescience Solutions also provides analytical/bioanalytical services including method development and validation, and stability storage and testing services.

Nanotechnology applications are becoming more prominent in coatings, computers, clothing, cosmetics and other products. As the applications of nanotechnology continue to expand, Global Lifescience Solutions will offer increased technical services to improve how companies measure, monitor, manage and minimize contaminants in the environment. This includes two new nanotoxicology services. The first is a high-content platform that provides cellular mechanistic information critical to understanding the toxic effects in new nanomaterials. The second is an in vivo model that provides information on developmental and reproductive toxicity of nanomaterials.

Scientist Appointed as New General Manager

To keep up with the latest scientific innovations, Global Lifescience Solutions works with companies to ensure that products are compliant with current and future regulations,” said Aline Lindbeck, Ph.D., who has been appointed to head Global Lifescience Solutions as its new general manager. “By integrating our laboratory and consulting services into a product development plan, we can help an organization meet key milestones while making the best use of its resources.”

Dr. Lindbeck has over 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with an emphasis on process chemistry and parenteral drug development.  She has spent the past fourteen years applying this knowledge to the development and launch of several new drugs and new drug formulations in the pharmaceutical industry.

Much of her focus has been on the development of manufacturing processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients in the areas of both chemical synthesis and fermentation. She has managed drug development programs involving new IV formulations, clinical studies and international generic drug strategies.  She will leverage these skills and experience to lead Global Lifescience Solutions’ new pharmaceutical and nanotechnology initiatives.

As general manager, Dr. Lindbeck’s responsibilities include new business development, management of contracts and product deliverables, development and implementation of promotional strategies, coordination and oversight of the GLP and GMP programs as well as management of Global Lifescience Solutions project managers. 

Dr. Lindbeck holds a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Kalamazoo College, a master of science degree in organic chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Michigan.  She is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Association for Women in Science.  She has served on the advisory board at Kalamazoo College for scholarships for women in science.  Dr. Lindbeck has numerous scientific publications, patents and presentations in the area of pharmaceutical drug development.
