Cognis Nutrition & Health invites attendees at this year’s IFT annual conference to quench their thirst and reduce trade show stress with “NEWtritional” beverages featuring ingredients to enhance beauty and health. Cognis is showcasing a beverage bar with drinks including its recently launched Plantalin™ natural plant extracts to demonstrate how they can be easily added to formulations while maintaining the product’s look and taste.
“The burgeoning market for “Beauty from Within” products presents our customers with tremendous opportunities,” said Laura Troha, Marketing Manager, Cognis Nutrition & Health. “Consumers want skincare products that deliver beauty benefits through nutrition—both foods and beverages--fueling one of the hottest trends in the market. We are also seeing escalating demand for products that provide calming and soothing benefits.”
As examples, Ms. Troha referenced Cognis’ recent global product launches with Plantalin™ aloe vera powder including a water in Chile and a juice in the UK. In Hungary, a new iced tea contains Plantalin™ green tea for weight management. In Spain, Cafe Fortaleza has launched a decaffeinated coffee containing Plantalin™ lemon balm and linden. According to scientific research, lemon balm has dose-dependent benefits and can improve mental performance from reducing anxiety to helping a person be more alert.
IFT Beverage Bar Cognis’ beverage samples at its IFT booth include “Crystal Clear Beauty Quencher,” a clear water with Xangold® natural lutein esters, Covitol® natural vitamin E, and Plantalin™ lemon balm. Studies show that lutein can help restore UV-induced depletion of antioxidant resources. Vitamin E, another antioxidant booster, regenerates vitamin C and can increase skin protection when combined with carotenoids.
Cognis is also offering “Cool as a Cucumber,” a special cucumber water with Covitol® natural vitamin E, and Plantalin™ lemon balm and passionflower for stress reduction and overall skin vitality. In a recent survey, 60 percent of women believe stress impacts facial skin appearance. Ms. Troha pointed out that Cognis’ nutricosmetic products enhance inner balance and help improve the skin’s condition.
“Lean Mean Mocha Blast” and “Key Lime Trimmer” are two delicious beverages featuring Tonalin® CLA to help reduce body fat by decreasing the amount of fat stored and increasing the rate of fat metabolism. Research has shown that CLA is especially effective in reducing body fat around the waist and thighs.
Other beverage samples include “Cardio Quencher,” a cholesterol-reducing smoothie with Heart Choice® natural plant sterols and “Sangria Sensation,” a sangria with Omevital® omega-3 fatty acids added to the fruity wine to help enhance overall wellness.
Attendees looking for a coffee treat can enjoy a complimentary cup of their favorite beverage with a “Leaner Creamer” featuring Tonalin® CLA and a “Cardio Creamer” with Heart Choice® natural phytosterols and Omevital® omega-3 fatty acids.
Cognis managers will be at booth #2136 throughout the IFT show to explain how its beauty and health ingredients can add value to a new or existing food or beverage.
