VANCOUVER, Wash., November 18, 2005— Cardinal Nutrition president David Lakey received an Industry Achievement Award from the Food Industry Leadership Center (FILC) during its conference at Portland State University on October 17, 2005. Nearly 500 executives from the nutrition, retail and packaged goods industries attend the annual conference.
“David has been an essential part of our program since it began more than 10 years ago,” said Dr. Tom Gillpatrick, FILC executive director. “He has developed marketing curriculum for undergrads and grad students, served on the faculty and mentored many successful students now working in the industry. We appreciate all of his contributions and management expertise.”
“Cardinal Nutrition is committed to supporting retailers, manufacturers and other business partners,” said Lakey. “I am grateful for the recognition and support of the Food Industry Leadership Center, and we will continue to align with its members to strengthen our industry and trade partnerships.”
The Food Industry Leadership Center, housed in PSU’s School of Business Administration, is one of only six programs in the nation providing educational and research programs for the food and retailing industry — the largest employment industry in the Northwest. Since FILC’s founding in 1994, more than 500 processors, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers have participated in various curricula. Portland State University is Oregon’s largest public institution and is home to the largest and highest-ranked graduate school of business.
Cardinal Nutrition operates the world’s only facility solely dedicated to production of licensed MSM, a key nutraceutical used to support joint health. It is also the only MSM production facility that is NNFA-GMP-certified. Cardinal Nutrition’s U.S.-made MSM, is always distilled for purity and supplied to quality manufacturers in global markets, and is the only North American MSM sold under license to worldwide R.J. Herschler MSM patents. For more information, call 1.888.733.5676 or visit www.cardinalnutrition.com.
