The Seattle Times reports that 2 naturopathic physicians from Bastyr have been appointed to a Medicare advisory group . Dr. Joseph Pizzorno Jr. (Bastyr co-founder) and Dr. Pamela Snider have accepted appointments to the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, convened by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This group  advises on issues such as what medical services will be covered by Medicare.

This event marks the first time that integrative medicine is represented on a Medicare advisory group.
