Lacey, WA – February 24, 2005 – Aloecorp, the world’s leading vertically integrated supplier of bioactive Aloe vera raw materials, has announced the appointment on January 1, 2005 of Walt C. Jones, Sr. to the position of Vice president of Sales and Marketing. In this newly created role, Jones is responsible for all of Aloecorp’s sales and marketing efforts. In addition to the routine responsibilities assigned to this role, Jones will pursue new revenue streams and will spearhead the development of new products and services.
During his accomplished career spanning nearly three decades, Jones has held leading management roles in the nutraceutical industry, which began in 1976 when he managed the marketing and sales efforts of Nature’s Way Products. Prior to joining Aloecorp, he was Vice President of Business Development for Carrington Laboratories and President of Caraloe, Inc., Carrington’s wholly-owned subsidiary.
Other career highlights include Jones’ role as Vice President of Business Development for Healthwell.com, a division of Penton Media, and President of PureGar, Inc., a raw materials contract packaging provider and subsidiary of Natrol, Inc. He also held the position of Vice President of Field Sales, Distribution and Database Management at Nutraceutical Corporation, where he later became president of the Specialty category. Outside of the nutraceutical arena, Jones worked as Vice President of Business Development for Redmond Mineral Corporation, and as Co-Division Manager of the System Software Division of Eyring Corporation in the high-tech industry.
According to Aloecorp’s President and Chief Executive Officer, John Rhees, “Walt possesses impressive industry credentials and we are thrilled to have him lead our sales and marketing efforts. Aloecorp has been a pioneer in the aloe industry, and Walt’s skills and leadership abilities will help us continue to set many more industry gold standards.” Jones has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Herbal Products Association and co-founded the Corporate Alliance of Integrative Medicine, now called the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance. He currently serves as Vice President of the International Aloe Science Council. Jones holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Almeda College and University in Boise, Idaho.
